Phnom Kulen is where the Khmer empire began. It is also where you will find a river with a thousand carved lingas in its bed, and a waterfall that the whole province treats as a swimming pool.

The waterfall is the headline, but the mountain is the story: this is the sacred river, the carvings in the riverbed, and a huge reclining Buddha at the summit.

You can settle into the hammocks and huts along the riverbank and spend part of the day doing very little, which is what the locals do. It is the most relaxed of our tours and the one people are most surprised by.

This is a 5–7 hour tour starting at 8:00am and finishing around 2pm.
